Synopsis
Freddy et sa femme Hattie vivent dans le ghetto de Harlem. Freddy ne travaille pas et se laisse entretenir par Hattie ou par sa mére Mamma. Hattie rencontre Jay-Jay, un chanteur de blues. Elle s'eprend de lui et quitte son mari pour suivre le chanteur à la Nouvelle-Orleans. Mais au matin, Jay-Jay l'abandonne. Hattie rentre chez elle.
